Hey! Thanks for being here.

The Town Weekly is a Friday morning newsletter about Tacoma, Washington. The week that was. The weekend ahead. A few recommendations from people who actually live here.

You'll get one email every Friday at 6 AM Pacific. Eight minutes to read. No filler, no rage bait, no press releases dressed up as news. If a story doesn't earn its place in your morning, it doesn't make the cut.

Here's what you get each week.
A brief news roundup. Five or six things that actually happened in Tacoma, summarized in plain English. If you read only one section, this is it.
The weekend ahead. Three to five things worth doing Friday through Sunday. Concerts, openings, restaurants, festivals, trails, whatever's in season.
A local recommendation. One shop, restaurant, bar, trail, or small business that deserves your attention. Sometimes a new opening. Sometimes a decade-old institution you've been driving past without noticing.

Once in a while, a longer read. When something happens that deserves real thought, I'll write real thought. Not every week.

I'm Seri. I live in Tacoma. I'm not a journalist. I'm starting this newsletter because nobody else is covering my city the way my city deserves. The News Tribune is behind a paywall. Seattle publications treat Tacoma like a suburb. Reddit is chaos.
This is for people who live in Tacoma, Fife, Ruston, University Place, Fircrest, or anywhere in easy driving distance. People who want to know what's happening in their city without scrolling seven apps.

If you want to send a tip, a complaint, a restaurant suggestion, or a story I should cover, hit reply. Every email has my real Gmail as the reply-to. I read everything.

First real issue drops Friday at 6 AM.

See you then.
Seri
